Initial numbers show that attendance at last week’s International Gaming Expo and Amusement Trades Exhibition International, or ATEI, were up, according to Clarion Gaming, the event organizers.
Clarion Gaming said that the numbers taken from a two-day snapshot showed that a total of 23,080 unique visitors attended Earls Court over the first two days of the exhibitions, which constituted a 1.1 percent increase year-on-year.
“At first, we thought it was going to be quiet,” said Tracy Cohen of TCS John Huxley, in a prepared statement. “G2E numbers were down, and we were worried that might be the case here; whatever the case, we have definitely had the right people visit us -- the decision makers.”
London's gaming show, which comprised exhibitors from the low-stake gaming, remote gaming, lottery, betting and land-based casino sectors, attracted 14,860 attendees, Clarion said. The leading visitor nations outside the United Kingdom were Italy, Austria, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and the United States.
“We’ve been busy over all three days,” said Justin Burke of Sega Amusements Europe, who exhibited at ATEI. “Indeed, we have been busier than last year; there has been a great buzz.”
According to Clarion Gaming, ATEI attracted 8,220 visitors with a further 2,819 IGE badge holders crossing into the coin-op amusements event. This equates to a 1.2 percent year-on-year increase. The top represented nations outside the United Kingdom were Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Irish Republic and Sweden.
