NEW YORK, N.Y., April 11 (Press Release) - The second annual Caribbean Gaming & Tourism Conference returns to the Condado Plaza Hotel & Casino in San Juan, Puerto Rico, June 27-29, with new workshops and seminars, and the region's first ever Security Operations Institute.
Hot topics at this year's conference include Internet gaming, cashless gaming, guest service, themed entertainment, and a plenary session that will present a five-year forecast of gaming industry developments throughout the region. Also scheduled are addresses by Caribbean government regulators who will analyze the top trends and issues within their separate jurisdictions. With regulatory issues a major factor in investment decisions, participants can expect a lively exchange of views.
Bruce Smith, President of conference presenter WestVille Enterprises Inc., expects an increase in delegates this year from all countries, especially the Dominican Republic and Panama. "Based on last year's turn-out," said Smith, "we should see a 15% increase in attendance to over 500 delegates and trade show visitors combined. They're coming because we've built a program on the information needs of the region, and because we attract quality exhibitors." All sessions, including the Security Operations Institute, will offer simultaneous English-Spanish translation.
Conference headliner: Security Operations Institute
New to this year's conference is the Security Operations Institute, a certification program with limited enrollment for security and surveillance professionals, scheduled from June 26-29. Course subjects include problem-solving under pressure, curriculum development, and methods for transferring knowledge. Participants who attend each session and pass a written test will receive a Certificate of Successful Completion.
Exhibitors and sponsors lining up
According to a WestVille official, exhibitor renewals are moving ahead at a healthy rate. Corporate sponsorships are keeping pace, too. Aristocrat Leisure Industries, Sydney, Australia, is this year's Platinum Sponsor. AC Coin & Slot, Atlantic City, NJ, and UNIDESA Gaming, Barcelona, Spain, are Gold Sponsors. Media sponsors include IGWB and Casino International Magazine.
Registration fees vary. Attractive team discount rates are available to companies signing up multiple registrants for the conference.
