LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The gaming industry's first and most
trusted technology conference returns May 22-24 to the Green Valley Ranch
in Las Vegas. Now in its fifth year, the Gaming Technology Summit continues
its steady growth with a new Lottery track, more sponsors, more exhibitors
and an encore presentation of the popular Project Management Forum.
Gaming Technology Summit addresses the critical role of technology
throughout all types of gaming facilities and the demands it places on
gaming professionals to learn new skills, integrate systems and make
hardware and software investment decisions.
Saverio R. Scheri III, Managing Director at WhiteSand Consulting, co-
producer of the Summit, said he originally viewed the conference as a
natural extension to the professional services his firm provided to dozens
of the industry's leading casino companies. As WhiteSand expanded in recent
years - offering technology integration solutions to all segments of the
gaming and hospitality industry - the Summit has naturally reflected that
growth.
"The technology requirements of casinos, racetracks and lotteries have
blurred over time," Scheri said. "Appropriately, the Gaming Technology
Summit has grown beyond its casino-centered roots to welcome expert
presenters and attendees from every segment of the industry, including
racetrack and hospitality operations.
"That growth continues at the 2007 Summit with the addition of a
conference track dedicated to the lottery industry," Scheri continued. As
WhiteSand worked closely with several major lottery organizations in recent
years, Scheri identified the need for the new Lottery track at GTS.
WhiteSand Consulting launched in 2001 and quickly grew to become the
gaming industry's premier professional services provider, aligning with the
most knowledgeable experts in the gaming industry and technology services.
Many of those experts have served as presenters at Gaming Technology
Summit, helping to make it the most respected educational event in the
industry.
Among the 50-plus outstanding presenters at the 2007 Summit are three
keynote speakers:
-- Felix Rappaport, President and Chief Operating Officer of Luxor;
-- Thomas J. Matthews, Chairman of the Board, President and Chief
Executive Officer of IGT; and
-- Jay Walker, Chairman of Walker Digital LLC, entrepreneur and founder of
Priceline.
The Project Management Forum, a companion event to Gaming Technology
Summit, debuted last year to widespread acclaim. It returns this year, on
May 22, immediately preceding the Summit. The Forum is presented by Michael
R. Wood, a nationally recognized expert in the field of business process
improvement, former gaming CIO and author of "The Helix Factor - the Key to
Streamlining Your Business Processes."
More than 500 technology professionals and vendors from the United
States, Canada, Australia, Mexico and the United Kingdom attended GTS 2006.
The Summit is co-presented by WhiteSand Consulting and Ascend Media
Gaming Group, the leading producer of trade magazines, newsletters and
trade shows serving the gaming industry around the world; with the
sponsorship support of eighteen leading gaming and technology companies.
