Guests from 24 tribal jurisdictions attend GLI's Oklahoma Regional Regulators Training Seminar

(PRESS RELEASE) -- More than 115 guests representing 24 tribal jurisdictions attended Gaming Laboratories International’s GLI University Oklahoma Regional Regulators Training Seminar this year. The attendees, including state agencies, hailed from three different states.

Education has been a critical part of GLI’s mission to provide more than just testing to tribal jurisdictions across the United States. The day-long training seminar, which was free of charge to State and Tribal Gaming Commissioners, provided in-depth conversations about relevant topics that specifically met the needs and concerns of OIGA and OTGRA members, including security threats and Class II compliance testing and auditing.

National Director of Tribal Development Russell Witt said, “The overwhelming success of the Oklahoma Regional Seminar begins with the Tribes. From our first conversation with leaders from OIGA and OTGRA, we knew the key to the success of this seminar would be based on the responses we received, and from the beginning of this process, it exceeded our expectations. To date, this was the largest Regional Seminar we’ve hosted, and for that, we have to thank all of the Tribal Gaming Regulators, operators and leaders that took time out of their schedule and away from their families.

“The OIGA Conference and the Oklahoma Gaming market both continue to grow and are vital to Tribal Gaming both regionally and nationally,” he continued. “We felt it was a great opportunity to work with the Tribal Associations to develop a seminar based on the subjects Tribes wanted to hear about and the suppliers they wanted to hear from. The content from all the presenters was informative and provided a baseline for great dialog during each of the sessions. We look forward to receiving the survey results from the seminar so we know what we can add and improve upon to make next year’s seminar even better.”
