iGB Affiliate Award winners revealed

11 February 2010

LONDON, England -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The iGB Affiliate Awards (previously the CAP Awards) have always been the highlight of the London Affiliate Conference (LAC). A night full of surprises, with an attendance list that reads as a who's who of the Affiliate industry, this glittering five star affair opened its door to 540 guests on the 28th January 2010 at the Grange St Paul's Hotel. Highlights included a star co-host in Phil 'The Unabomber' Laak, elite entertainment, an incredible charity donation and, of course, 23 ultimate winners. All these were set against a backdrop that celebrated the host city itself: London. The Queen greeted guests in Buckingham palace for champagne and then guests were seated, looking upon famous London landmarks, to a three course dinner worthy of the decision makers in the room.

"The night was a huge success and the winners truly deserve their place on the big screen." Alex Pratt, Head of iGaming Business and iGB Affiliate stated "It's the best way we know how to reward the amount of effort and dedication every affiliate and affiliate manager put into their campaigns and work throughout the year. And best of all this is voted and judged by industry peers – the best validation you can get."

The night saw many newcomers rise to the occasion; Ladbrokes took the sweepstake in Bingo for best affiliate program and affiliate manager, Bet365 took Best Sportsbook and Overall Affiliate Program award home, and Income Access dominated the 'Non-Traditional iGaming' categories. There were also many noteworthy Affiliate winners such Pokerstrategy.com and Bingobase.com, but it was Pokerisivut.com who took the gold by winning the much coveted Best Overall Affiliate. However it wasn't all about newcomers, long-established award winners fought hard to keep their place at the top, proving that the more you win, the more you want to keep on winning. Poker Star won three awards, and Microgaming, NETELLER, Reward Affiliates and Betbrain are still the unbeaten champions in their categories. But perhaps the biggest winners was a completely non-gaming related company; Oxfam.

"A big congratulations to all the winners and a special thank you and congratulations to everyone who donated so generously for the Haiti cause and Oxfam." Marit von Stedingk, Event Manager of the iGB Awards declared, "We raised a total of £65,000, which will be doubled to £130,000 by the CalvinAyre Foundation, and this could not have been done without the generosity the whole iGaming industry - no business beats this market for being able to mix fun, work and true professionalism so simultaneously. On which subject, we are missing a few Tube Signs centrepieces – if they get back to me in one piece I promise not to ask any questions!"

The full list of winners can be found on www.iGBAffiliateAwards.com and keep a lookout for any updates on future developments regarding next years evening. Rumours have it that a re-design is in the works, but no more has been revealed. Watch this space.
