Magnet Gaming awarded new UK license

28 January 2016

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Innovative slots provider Magnet Gaming has been granted a Remote Gambling Software Operating Licence by the UK Gambling Commission.

The Danish company is now one of the few overseas suppliers which has the required licensing in place to comply with the Gambling (Licensing and Advertising) Act.

The Act, which passed into law in October 2014, requires operators that provide remote gambling services to British consumers to obtain a U.K. license.

Magnet Head of Game Licensing Thomas Nielsen said the deal was strategically important for the company as they look to expand beyond the borders of their domestic market.

"The U.K. market is one of the biggest and longest-established anywhere in the world," Nielsen said. "As a result, its regulatory standards are extremely high and we are very proud to have been trusted with a license.

"We believe this will be a significant stepping stone for us as we're confident our games will appeal to a new generation of British slots players and their excellent retention rates will have an impact on the revenue streams of U.K.-facing operators."

Founded in 2014, Magnet Gaming develops attractive slot machines in HTML5 that are designed to deliver a great gaming experience on multiple devices.

They will be showcasing their games, including new titles Space Gems, Candy Kingdom and Vikings, at next week's ICE Totally Gaming on stand N6-210.
