BILOXI, Miss., May 3 (Press Release) - Robert Baldwin, the President and CFO of Mirage Resorts, and the executive designated to operate the Mirage division of MGM Grand Inc. once the merger is finalized will address attendees of the Southern Gaming Summit, May 10 & 11, 2000 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center in Biloxi.
Also addressing the attendees will be Penn National Gaming Chairman and CEO Peter Carlino, whose company will soon complete purchase of two casinos on the GulfCoast from Pinnacle Entertainment. Baldwin will replace MGM Grand President and CFO James Murren at the general session on the morning of May 11.
As the designated leader of the Mirage properties under the MGM Grand parent, Baldwin will discuss future development on the Coast and give his view of the market. Carlino, whose company will take over Casino Magic Bay St. Louis and Boomtown Biloxi, will explain his upbeat view of the Gulf Coast and explain why his primarily parimutuel company has taken the plunge into the gaming industry.
Also delivering keynote speeches at the Southern Gaming Summit are American Gaming Association President Frank Fahrenkopf and Atlantic City Mayor James Whelan.
The seventh annual Southern Gaming Summit is the largest gaming conference and trade show held outside Las Vegas, and is produced by the Gulf Coast Gaming Association and Casino Journal Publishing Group.
