4 November 2002

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey – (Press Release) -- Recently announced plans relating to casino technology will underscore the timeliness and relevance of the 4th Annual Gaming and Technology Conference, to be held at the Atlantic City Convention Center on Nov. 14.

"Our keynote speaker, Jim Murren, is president and CFO of MGM Mirage, a company that has a lot of exciting plans relating to technology," said Cory Morowitz of Morowitz Gaming Advisors LLC, a producer of the conference. "MGM Mirage announced that it has entered into an agreement with International Game Technology to provide EZ PAY ticket-in/ticket-out technology on about 7,000 slots at its casino hotels.

The company has also launched its Players Club loyalty program, which enables slot and table play to be tracked into a single account so players can quickly earn complimentary services and cash at eight participating MGM Mirage properties. The system's technology will recognize a customer's activity in real time so customers can be rewarded for their patronage immediately. In addition, the company announced the formation of MGM Mirage Online, designed to explore opportunities and build market share by leveraging technology. Attendees will have a great deal to learn from Mr. Murren and the other companies represented at this event."

Issues to be explored include Internet gaming, cashless wagering, intellectual property protection and issues involved in regulating technology and in bringing it to the marketplace. The lead sponsors are Bally Gaming & Systems, and Jefferies & Company.

Murren will deliver the luncheon address, sponsored by IGT and A.C. Coin & Slot. Murren joined MGM Mirage in 1998 after a 14-year career on Wall Street where he gained a reputation as one of the more insightful gaming analysts. Other participants include the New Jersey Casino Control Commission, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, Aristocrat Technologies, Microgaming Software Systems, Dover Downs Entertainment, Mohegan Sun, the Borgata, A.C. Coin & Slot Service Co., Catania Consulting Group, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld and Konami Gaming.

The conference is produced by Morowitz Gaming Advisors, LLC, a leading provider of financial and operations analysis for the hospitality industry, Sterns & Weinroth, PC, one of the nation's top gaming law firms, and Michael Pollock's Gaming Industry Observer, an award-winning newsletter that tracks trends in the casino industry.
