Net Gaming Experts to Speak at Miami Conference

2 February 2001

NEW YORK (Press Release) — Gaming leaders from around the globe gathering at Strategic Research Institute's World Internet Gaming Summit—to be held March 15-16 at the Wyndham Miami Beach Resort in Miami, Florida — will meet to discuss a multi-billion dollar industry on the brink of enormous change.

The Internet gaming industry is developing at a dizzying pace, attracting new entrepreneurs every day. Leading experts will discuss the latest developments in interactive gambling in jurisdictions around the globe, including North America, Europe, Asia, Australia, South Africa, and the Caribbean.

But speakers at the World Internet Gaming Summit will not only explain the current state of the market — covering the state of international legislation and regulation, and the development of emerging technologies and e-cash solutions — but will, for the first time, reveal new models and new approaches for online gaming that will fit into any regulatory framework. These models promise to further bolster the credibility of the industry and accelerate its integration into the mainstream gaming market.

The conference, which will be chaired by Tony Fontaine, vice president of complex business solutions for Station Casinos, will feature 29 speakers from 6 continents. Experts from the fields of gaming, law, regulation, and government will include Frank Fahrenkopf, president of the American Gaming Association; Peter Coroneos, President of the Internet Industry Association; Marc Falcone, Vice President of Gaming Research, Bear Stern; Joseph Kelly, professor of business law, SUNY College at Buffalo; Mickey Charles, president of the Sports Network; Frank Catania, president of the Catania Consulting Group; Charles Crawford, executive vice president of Internet Billing Co., Ltd.; Jim Litchko, president of Litchko and Associates, Kevin DiGregory, deputy assistant attorney general, U.S. Department of Justice under Janet Reno, and many more.
