HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The 2nd annual Pennsylvania
Gaming Congress will be held March 6-7, 2006, in the expanded facilities of
the Whitaker Center and connected Harrisburg Hilton, conference organizers
announced today.
Organizers also announced that Duane Morris LLP and its Public Affairs
Management affiliate will return as Presenting Sponsors of the Pennsylvania
Gaming Congress. "We are excited to be part of this new chapter in
Pennsylvania's history, and look forward to playing the leadership role as we
do in other industries. With all the participants in the gaming industry -
including public officials, operators, suppliers, distributors and attorneys -
engaged in the conference, this is plainly the right place for Duane Morris,"
said Marc Brookman, Chair of the firm's Real Estate practice and Co-Chair of
the Gaming Industry practice.
Duane Morris LLP, among the 100 largest law firms in the United States, is
a full-service firm headquartered in Philadelphia with 18 offices and over 550
lawyers. Public Affairs Management is a leading government-relations firm with
four offices in Pennsylvania as well as offices in five other states and
Washington, D.C.
More than 400 gaming operators, slot manufacturers, analysts, bankers,
public officials and other industry-related professionals from 30 states
attended the first Pennsylvania Gaming Congress last winter, making it the
largest state gaming conference in the industry. With gaming operations in the
Commonwealth expected to commence in 2006, the Pennsylvania Gaming Congress is
expected to grow even larger in coming years.
The conference will be held in the stunning, 660-seat Sunoco Performance
Theater at the Whitaker Center, and the exhibition area and cocktail reception
will be staged in the adjacent Kunkel Gallery lobby. The Whitaker Center is
conveniently connected to the Harrisburg Hilton, which will accommodate the
conference luncheon and overnight attendees.
"Due to the overwhelming response to the first Pennsylvania Gaming
Congress, we have significantly expanded our meeting, exhibition and reception
space. Our conference program will be tailored to the critical issues facing
the emerging Pennsylvania gaming industry," said Michael Pollock, Managing
Director of Spectrum Gaming Group LLC, organizing producer of the conference.
Experts from Pennsylvania and the gaming industry will examine such topics
as "Racinos: At the Starting Gate," opportunities for women- and minority-
owned businesses, the legislative outlook, and the regulatory climate.
Returning Pennsylvania Gaming Congress
sponsors include Aristocrat Technologies, Radio PA Networks, Jefferies & Co.,
SOSH Architects, Cooper Levenson, and Global Gaming Business Weekly.
