10 December 2012

LONDON -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Online poker room PKR is once again in the running for silverware at The International Gaming Awards. The U.K.-based site is among nominees for the Online Poker Operator of the Year award for the fourth consecutive year, having won the award in 2010 and 2011. It is also in the running for the Socially Responsible Operator of the Year Online award.

The Poker Operator of the Year award seeks to recognize the online operator that made the most headway in the real-money poker sector during 2012, with judges to consider a number of areas such as originality, growth and scale, usability, payment processing and marketing. Among the factors under consideration in the Socially Responsible Operator of the Year category are the availability of problem gambling assistance and implementation of responsible gaming safeguards.

Now in its sixth year, the IGA celebrates the top global land-based and online gaming sectors across 21 categories judged by a panel of select key players from the gaming industry. The IGA ceremony will be hosted at The Brewery in London on 04 February 2013.

Marketing Director Simon Prodger commented, “It’s great that our unique approach is still recognized within the industry and we’d be thrilled to win for a third time. We take pride in our responsible approach to gaming and the relationship we have with our player base, so it’s nice to be named in the Socially Responsible category. Win or not, the IGA are significant and it’s great to be involved. I’m sure it’ll be a fantastic evening in February.”
