Racing and Gaming Conference at Saratoga to be held in August

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Are historical horse racing machines slot machines or a form of horse racing? Are these machines, which are growing in popularity, truly a pari-mutuel product? Does it matter? By some reports, historical horse racing handle has eclipsed traditional horse racing handle. What effect will this have on the horse racing industry, and how will stakeholders and regulators adapt? And what impact is it having on the traditional gaming industry?

These and other questions will be answered at The Racing and Gaming Conference at Saratoga (RGCS) 2023 on 14-16 August at the Saratoga Hilton.

In a session titled “Historical Horse Racing Machines: The Tail Wagging the Horse?” industry experts will discuss and debate this multibillion-dollar business that is slowly but surely disrupting the horse-racing and gaming industries. Karl Sleight, Partner at Lippes Mathias, will moderate the session. Presenters include:

In keeping with its longstanding tradition, The Racing and Gaming Conference at Saratoga coincides with the summer Thoroughbred racing season at Saratoga Race Course, making it a must-attend event for both racing and gaming professionals.

Racing and gaming industry experts will examine the trends, challenges and critical issues facing their industries with other panel discussion topics including:
