(PRESS RELEASE) --
SlotsMillion will unite visitors to the Cash Game Festival (June 8-12) in San Giljan, Malta, and iGaming Supershow (June 7-10), in Amsterdam, Netherlands, inside the world's first-ever real-money, multi-player, virtual reality casino.
Despite being in countries 2,000 km apart, players wearing Oculus Rift headsets will be able to step inside the casino-of-the-future together – and watch Twitch footage from the Cash Game Festival on a giant screen.
The ground-breaking VR meet-up comes a week after SlotsMillion was named Innovation of the Year, one of the top honours at the prestigious EGR Marketing and Innovation Awards.
Set in a vast Art Deco-influenced room on the 22nd story of the tallest building in a futuristic city, SlotsMillion transports visitors to another universe.
Once they have chosen their avatar, players enter the skyscraper and head to the SlotsMillion lobby where they can survey the luxurious surroundings featuring 40 of today's hottest, classic, video, jackpot and 3D slots.
Gonzo's Quest,
Immortal Romance,
Starburst,
The Wild Chase, and branded products
Basic Instinct and
Rambo, are among the titles that can be played for real money.
Between June 8-10, a huge television, viewable through the SlotsMillion building's floor-to-ceiling windows, will beam a direct feed of the official Cash Game Festival live stream, which will be broadcast with live commentary from the main table during the festival.
Alexandre Tomic, CEO of the multi award-winning SlotsMillion, said: "Virtual reality is still in its infancy but it is clear that it has the potential to fundamentally change everyday life, more than any technology has ever managed before.
"We can use VR to create beautiful, vivid encounters that are more colorful and life-like than real life. It has the power to transport us to another world and – as we are demonstrating at the Cash Game Festival and iGaming SuperShow – be in two places at once.
"Most people haven't tried VR yet and it is hard to understand the strength of the immersiveness until you do so for yourself. We are excited to be able to offer visitors to these shows the chance to have that experience."
The five-day Cash Game Festival runs non-stop for 120 hours and allows players to participate in poker games with a range of buy-ins.
It was established in Tallinn, Estonia, in 2014 and features special sponsored feature tables, high hand bonuses and special customer offers throughout the event. The London event, in March 2016, attracted 3,000 players from 50 countries.
The iGaming Super Show is the biggest dedicated iGaming industry exhibition and conference. The 2016 event will welcome more than 4,000 delegates and 100 speakers, and host over 120 stands.
SlotsMillion is operated by ALEA, the creator of innovative gaming experiences. In addition to its success at the EGR Marketing and Innovation Awards, it was named Casinomeister's Best New Casino in January 2016. Both trophies can be seen proudly standing on the bar inside the SlotsMillion casino.
SlotsMillion is licensed and regulated by the Gaming Authority of Malta and the Netherlands Antilles (Curacao) government.
As well as the virtual reality casino, which faithfully replicates the look and feel of a bricks-and-mortar casino, SlotsMillion can be experienced in 3D. It offers a huge range of games from the world's leading software suppliers, including Microgaming, NetEnt, NextGen Gaming, Playtech and Quickspin.
The company was founded by Tomic and Charles Gross in 2012 to capitalize on the predicted exponential growth in the virtual and augmented reality market.
Facebook, Google, Microsoft and Samsung are among the companies to have produced VR products. With the technology set to go mainstream, experts have indicated the sector could be worth up to $80 billion by 2020.
ALEA has offices in Barcelona and Malta.
