Southern Gaming Summit, BingoWorld Conference and Expo join forces

12 January 2011

BILOXI, Mississippi -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The 18th annual Southern Gaming Summit and the 15th annual BingoWorld Conference and Expo join forces again May 4-5 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum & Convention Center. Presented by the Mississippi Casino Operators Association and BNP Media, the two events celebrate the second year of their collaboration and form the largest commercial gaming trade show held outside of Las Vegas.

"The 2010 Summit was a great success with the addition of BingoWorld, as the combined event provided tremendous added value to all our attendees," said Beverly Martin, executive director of the Mississippi Casino Operators Association. "With fresh new conference programs this year and expanded show hours, there is an outstanding opportunity for participants to learn from and network with key people in the gaming industry."

The Summit is headlined by two general sessions including an Executive Roundtable, in which senior gaming executives from several properties will participate in a moderated discussion. Other regular sessions will explore a variety of issues such as the latest developments in tribal gaming, marketing and slot machine games and technologies. Special topics also include a financial roundtable and a review of the impact the 2010 Gulf oil spill had on tourism and local economies and how its lingering effects are still being addressed.

Once again the International Masters of Gaming Law is presenting a Summit conference track with a number of renowned legal experts participating in the following sessions:

  • Commercial Gaming Regulatory Update
  • The Uninformed Regulator and the Steep Learning Curve
  • Online Gaming: Succeeding in an Evolving Legal Landscape

The BingoWorld program includes two all-new versions of popular workshops along with regular conference sessions. The event opens on May 4 with Sellin' Paper and Callin' Balls, a customer service workshop. This year's edition, Dealing with Hotheads, Squeaky Wheels, and Plain Old Mean Nasty People, addresses conflict management and customer recovery. The day continues with Bingo University, a hands-on classroom-style program on bingo hall promotions. On May 5, the BingoWorld sessions are presented in three tracks: Bingo Trends, Revenue Streams and Management Skills.

Plenty of networking opportunities are also available throughout the event, with evening entertainment for attendees and a large trade show floor that includes both Southern Gaming Summit and BingoWorld exhibitors. Trade show hours are expanded this year, allowing more time for interaction between vendors and customers.

In all, the unique mix of education, networking and southern hospitality make this a necessary event for anyone doing business in or interested in developing business in the region. With this dynamic audience, it's no wonder that vendors are reaching out with exhibit booths, sponsorships and advertising opportunities. Prime exhibit space is going fast, so contact Lesley Grashow at grashowl@bnpmedia.com for more information.
