Trickett cleans up at British Poker Awards

20 September 2012

LONDON -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Sam Trickett was a big winner at the British Poker Awards this week. The star-studded event was held aboard the HMS President in London on 17th September and hosted by journalist and TV presenter Grub Smith and Bluff Europe’s Michael Caselli. Trickett scooped three awards, Best Cash Game Player, Best Tournament Player and Player of the Year, having been chosen from among his peers by over 5,000 online voters.

Over the space of a year the Nottinghamshire pro has won the Partouche Poker Tour Main Event, pocketed almost $1m at the Macau High Stakes Challenge, won millions at the Macau cash tables and of course scooped $10m at the Big One for One Drop at this year's WSOP.

It was a good day for the PokerStars crowd, too, with UKIPT president Kristy Thompson picking up the all-important Biggest Contribution to Growing and Promoting Poker award, while the UKIPT took Best Tournament. Liv Boeree was Poker Personality of the Year, while UKIPT and EPT director Toby Stone won Best Tournament Director.

Dusk Till Dawn faired well, too, picking up Best Card Room and Best Card Room Manager, in Simon Trumper.
