Niagara Falls was the place to be April 17th – 20th as RGC delivered its Discovery 2005 Conference. Although the 20+°C weather and the beauty of the Falls made us all yearn for the great outdoors, this year’s impressive list of speakers and topics had participants firmly planted in their seats.
Discovery 2005 featured a keynote address by Dr. Sam Goldstein on The Power of Resilience. Later concurrent sessions ranged from the role of ADHD in problem gambling to a panel investigating the Responsible Gambling Challenges Posed by the Internet. On Tuesday, a panel of global experts explored Self-Exclusion: Is it Working or is it Time for a Change? Finally, on Wednesday, four multi-disciplinary panellists including Dr. Barry McLellan, Chief Coroner for Ontario, explored Problem Gambling and Suicide: What Can We Do to Help?

The interactive format of this year’s Discovery Conference gave participants an opportunity to ask questions and explore - in depth - those issues that challenge us all.

The Council would like to thank all those who attended, presented, asked questions and contributed to the success of Discovery 2005.
