Following on from the PR Communications Seminar, held in Tallinn in November 2011, a one-day Workshop on the same topic will be held in Budapest on 11 October 2012.

Hosted by Szerencsejáték Zrt, the workshop will take place on the day after the Responsible Gaming Seminar which is also being held in Budapest in October.
The theme of the workshop is “Communicating the importance for society of State
Lotteries.” and will further develop the themes discussed during the Tallinn Seminar.

As the European Commission moves closer to proposing its action plan on gambling
services in the EU, it is more important than ever that the values and importance of
the work of EL and its member lotteries is understood and appreciated by all of the
stakeholders both domestically and in the European Institutions. In particular, National
Regulatory Authorities in EU States are now also being brought into the institutional
dialogue. The format of the workshop will include a minimum of formal presentations
and will provide participants with the opportunity to discuss the key issues in breakout groups, with the shared knowledge and expertise being fed back to the full group.

Topics to be discussed will include :

  • Communicating the Good Causes to “spread the good news”
  • EU institutional and legal update
  • Value of ELISE and other reports
  • Sports agreements
  • Impact of Social Media developments … feed-back from Social Media workshop
    held in Munich in May
  • Winners Support
  • Best practice for relations with the media
  • Re-examine the “message and the medium”
