The Northwest Indian Gaming Conference is organized by the Washington Indian Gaming Association (WIGA) each year. WIGA is an organization of tribal government leaders of federally recognized Tribes in the state of Washington, committed to promote, protect and preserve the general welfare and interests of Indian tribes with respect to gaming in Indian Country. WIGA's mission is to advance and promote government-to-government relationships and effective communication between Tribes and the State of Washington, and to maintain, protect, and advocate Indian tribal sovereignty and Treaty rights.

As a trade association, WIGA's purpose is to educate and disseminate information to the Indian gaming community, federal and state governments, and the general public on issues related to gaming in Indian Country, and to provide the necessary support to preserve and protect the integrity of gaming conducted in Indian Country.
